Sorry I was MIA!!

I’m finally getting back to the norm…slowly but surely.  I realized while i was in Honolulu that I was very addicted to my coupons.  I read the sales ads over there & almost clipped coupons while there, but i didn’t.  The thing that killed me the most was reading my favorite coupon blogs Facebook status’.  There was so many awesome deals & I wasn’t able to get to all the good deals & printable coupons.  BOO HOO!!

BUT…my ads were all stacked in my mailbox & my 2 missed Sunday papers were still here to greet me when I came home.  Even though my Dad threw them in the recycle bin, because they were stacked up on my driveway.  Yes, i dove in after them…they were wrapped in plastic so it’s ok!!

Today, I FINALLY made it through all the coupon inserts (there was about 9 total) & clipped all that I wanted.  Now I just have to get them in the binder.

While I was gone, I received goodies in my mailbox!!  A letter from Kings Hawaiian Bread (i sent them an email about how much i loved their new sandwich rolls, knowing that they send out free coupons).  I received 2 coupons for any Kings product…for FREE!! YAY!!  Then I got a sample “girly products” package, with samples of pads, tampons & a mini Secret deodorant, which also came with 4 high value coupons! Then I got a sample of Walmarts baby wipes.  And then some $5.00 off coupons for Similac, which i give to my hula sister.

Since i’m on a budget for the next 2-3 weeks (since being gone for 12 days), i’m going to try my best at saving us the most money in the weeks to come.  So stay tuned for my shopping trips & savings ideas.

Here’s a trip that I plan on taking tomorrow.

Walgreens:  I’ve finally figured out the Walgreens Register Rewards program.  If you look in their ad, it’ll show a few items that look like this. 

So the sale price on Shick Intuition is $8.99, then you get $3.00 in Register Rewards, making it $5.99.

Register Rewards is a program that Walgreens does, where the Register Rewards will print at the register when you check out.  Similar to the Catalina coupons.  You can use this as CASH on your next Walgreens trip OR they also take these at Fred Meyers.  (which is AWESOME for more expensive product like meats!!)

So in last weeks Sunday paper (i believe) there was a coupon for Shick Intuitions Razor or 3-pack Refill for $2.00 off.  Making it $8.99 on sale, subtract my $2.00 off coupon, making it $6.99, then i’ll get my $3.00 Register Rewards at checkout, making the total $3.99.  (PS - you can only do one per transaction, it won’t print out another $3.00 RR if you try to buy 2 of these.  You can do 2 separate transactions though!)

So here’s the trip planned for tomorrow:

Shick Intuition - $8.99 (i have 1 - $2.00 off coupon, making it $6.99. Then i’ll get a $3.00 RR, making it $3.99 after RR)

Twizzlers - 2 for $3.00 (i have 2 - $0.75 off coupons, making it 2 for $1.50. Then i’ll get a $1.00 RR, making it $0.50 after RR)

Cottonelle Wipes - Walgreens Coupon for $1.99ea (i used my other coupons already, so i have none, but this isn’t a bad deal)

Reach Toothbrush or Floss - 1 for $2.99 (i have 1 - $1.00 off coupon, making it $1.99.  Then i’ll get a $2.00 RR, making it FREE after RR)

Pringles - 4 for $6.00 or $1.50ea (i have 1 - $1.00 off 3 coupon, making it 4 cans for $5.00.  Then i’ll get a $2.00 RR, making it 4 cans for $3.00)

So my purchase should add up to about $16.00, then i’ll get $8.00 in Register Rewards.  Making it a savings of 50%.  Then i’m gonna take my Register Rewards & go buy meats at Freddy’s.  Happy couponing!!
