How to pay $3.86 for 75 yards of elastic

Many many years ago we received a $25.00 gift card that can be used at Chili's, Maggiano's, or Macaroni Grill.  I lost track of it & found it in the garage when I was dumping stuff.  I pondered on keeping it, but why?  If I didn't use it all these years, I probably wouldn't use it.  Especially since none of those places are near here.

So I went to Plastic Jungle.  It's a site where you can sell your unused gift cards.  You type in where your gift card is for & how much it's for (minimum of $25.00) & then a box will pop up with your payout options.  An Amazon Gift Card, Direct Deposit to your PayPal or they'll send you Cash.  Of course it's not for the full amount, but that doesn't bother me.

So for my $25.00 gift card, my offers were:
   ** $21.00 Amazon Gift Card
   **$20.00 PayPal
   **$20.00 Cash

I opted for the Amazon Gift Card.  First because I got more back, secondly because you can find anything on Amazon & third because I get free 2-day shipping.  When I completed my transaction with Plastic Jungle, it directed me to print out a receipt of what I was sending in & also a pre-paid shipping label.  I put my card in an envelope with the receipt & taped the shipping label on & dropped it off.  Within 5 days, I had an email with my Amazon Gift Card redemption code.

Easy!!

And then I also signed up for SwagBucks a while back.  It's pretty much like Google.  You type things in at the top in the search box & once in awhile, you'll get points known as "Swag Bucks."  When you accumulate so many points, you redeem them for cool prizes...such as a $5.00 Amazon Gift Card (when you accumulate 450 points).  I'm close to receiving my 3rd - $5.00 Amazon Gift Card.

So in my SwagBucks account, I had a $5.00 Gift Card redemption code waiting to be used.

So then comes the question...why would I need so much elastic?  I have a small project that I'm working on requiring me to make hula skirts.  15 of them.  I'm trying to cut down on the cost of supplies, so I'm using the resources that I have:  the material that's been sitting in containers for awhile waiting to be used & my Amazon Gift Cards.

Today I found a 75 foot roll of elastic for $29.86.  I used my $26.00 in Amazon Gift Card codes.  And now I only have to pay $3.86 out of pocket.  AND it'll be at my door by Saturday afternoon.

Good deals are not only found at the grocery stores...you can do awesome things online too!! :)
